01Who this Policy applies to

This Policy applies to people who:

• access the AI Novel website;
• join the beta interest list;
• receive or use an invitation;
• create an account;
• use the narrative experiences;
• send feedback or contact us.

The AI Novel beta is exclusively for people aged 18 or older.

02Data we process

Depending on how you use the service, we may process the following categories of data.

Registration and account data — We may store information such as your name, email address, date of birth, account authentication and security information, language and user preferences, and account creation, update, and activity dates.

Interest list and invitation data — If you request beta access, we may store your email address, language, the source or referral through which you joined the list when available, and invitation status and dates. We use this information to manage beta access and contact you about invitation availability.

Experience content — So that a story can react to your actions and maintain continuity, we store content related to the experiences you use, including actions and text you write; responses and content generated by artificial intelligence; story state; characters, locations, events, relationships, and other narrative information maintained by the engines; technical data related to turn execution; and images and instructions used to generate images when that feature is available.

AI Novel accepts free-form text. You may therefore voluntarily include personal information in a story's content.

Usage and operational data — We may also process information needed to operate, protect, and improve the beta, such as internal user, experience, and operation identifiers; features used; AI call consumption and volume; model and provider used; response times and performance information; error and failure information; application version, platform, and browser; and technical security data and operational records.

Feedback — When you submit feedback, we may store the message, your user identifier, the related experience when applicable, application version, platform, browser or User-Agent, and information needed to investigate the reported issue.

Avoid entering personal data about yourself or others that is not necessary for the experience, especially sensitive information such as health data, religion, political opinions, sex life, racial or ethnic origin, or other intimate information.

03How we use data

We process personal data for purposes such as:

• creating and managing your account;
• verifying beta access requirements;
• authenticating users and protecting sessions;
• running narrative experiences and maintaining their continuity;
• generating responses, states, and images through artificial intelligence systems;
• managing invitations and the interest list;
• providing support and receiving feedback;
• detecting errors, abuse, fraud, and security issues;
• monitoring service performance, reliability, and costs;
• diagnosing technical issues;
• improving how the product works during the beta;
• complying with legal or regulatory obligations where applicable;
• exercising or defending rights in administrative, judicial, or extrajudicial proceedings.

We use data only for purposes compatible with AI Novel's operation, security, evaluation, and evolution.

04Artificial intelligence and sharing with providers

AI Novel uses external artificial intelligence services to run certain parts of its experiences.

To generate a response or image, we may send AI providers information needed for that operation, which may include:

• your action in the story;
• earlier excerpts from the experience;
• information about characters and the world;
• narrative memory and state;
• internal instructions required for generation.

Different providers and models may be used depending on the service configuration. AI Novel's infrastructure may currently use services from companies such as OpenAI, Google, Fireworks AI, and DeepSeek, as well as other providers added to the product in the future. These suppliers receive only the data needed to perform the contracted services, subject to each supplier's applicable terms. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

05Other suppliers

We may use infrastructure suppliers for activities such as:

• application hosting and infrastructure;
• databases;
• image and file storage;
• email delivery;
• technical monitoring and observability;
• technical analysis of website traffic.

These suppliers may process data on our behalf to the extent necessary to provide their services. Some suppliers may be located or process information outside Brazil. In those cases, we will take applicable measures so that data processing and international transfers comply with Brazilian law.

06Logs and observability

We maintain technical records for security, failure diagnosis, and service operation.

AI Novel's architecture seeks to minimize the data included in these records. As a rule, our operational logs should not record:

• text written by the player;
• complete prompts;
• complete artificial intelligence responses;
• passwords;
• authentication tokens;
• cookies;
• magic links;
• API keys.

Some technical identifiers may be used to correlate events and investigate failures.

07Storage and retention

We retain data for the period necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, the operation of the beta, compliance with legal obligations, and the defense of our rights.

Because AI Novel is in beta, retention periods and mechanisms may be adjusted as the service evolves.

When information is no longer needed, it may be deleted or anonymized, except where retention is permitted or required by law.

Backups and technical records may remain for an additional period until their normal replacement or expiration.

08Security

We adopt technical and organizational measures intended to reduce the risks of unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure of information.

No internet-connected system is completely immune to incidents. If a relevant incident involving personal data is identified, appropriate measures will be taken according to the nature and risk of the event.

09Your rights

Under applicable law, you may request, as appropriate:

• confirmation that your data is being processed;
• access to your personal data;
• correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated information;
• information about data sharing;
• anonymization, blocking, or deletion of data processed contrary to the law;
• deletion of data where applicable;
• withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent;
• other measures provided by data protection law.

During the beta, some requests may be handled manually. To exercise your rights, contact hello@ainovel.website. We may request reasonable information to confirm your identity before handling a request related to your account or personal data.

10Deleting your account and experiences

You may request deletion of your account and associated data through our contact channel.

Certain records may be retained when their retention is necessary or permitted by law, including for compliance with legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, or the exercise of rights.

11People under 18

The AI Novel beta is exclusively for adults.

You must be 18 or older to create an account or use the service.

We may use information provided during registration and other reasonable age-assurance mechanisms to verify beta eligibility.

If we identify an account belonging to someone who does not meet the age requirement, we may prevent access and take appropriate measures regarding the associated data.

12Analytics and browser storage

We may use technologies necessary for the website and application to function, including local browser storage.

We may also use technical traffic analysis tools, such as Cloudflare Web Analytics, to understand aggregate use of the public page.

If we begin using tracking technologies that require consent or additional controls, this Policy and the service interface will be updated as necessary.

13Changes to this Policy

AI Novel is under active development.

This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the product, our suppliers, data processing, or the law.

When a change is material, we will seek to communicate it appropriately.

The current version will always be identified by the date shown at the beginning of the document.
